Pathways to Efficiency Event

Thursday, September 26 from 6pm to 8pm at Firkinstein Brewing (673 King Street, Bridgewater).

Join us for Pathways to Energy Efficiency, a storytelling and social event. The social will be a great opportunity to hear short presentations from community members about energy efficiency and energy insecurity initiatives in our region. There will also be time to meet folks and have conversations at the event.

You'll learn how to reduce your energy costs at home and meet some folks who can help you get there at this event.

The speakers and topics will include:

  2. Ocean Pearl: My Passive House Project – Martha Myers

  3. Coordinated Access: Energy Insecurity & Homelessness Prevention - Kristi Tibbo, South Shore Open Doors Association

  4. Home Sharing = Affordable Housing - Chris Andrews

  5. Empowering Bridgewater: Tackling Energy Poverty through Innovation and Community Action - Asad Hussain, Town of Bridgewater

  6. Benefits of Going Solar - JP Bissonnette

  7. Learning About Energy Insecurity in Bridgewater - Laurianne Debanné, McGill University

  8. Energy Poverty Task Force - Brian Gifford

  9. Greening the Power Grid - Jessica Scott, Province of Nova Scotia

  10. Impacts of Extreme Temperature on Public Health - Sarah Murphy

Due to the venue rules, the event is 19+. Folks are welcome to bring food into the venue. Drinks (alcohol-based and non-alcohol) will be available for purchase at FirkinStein. Come out for a fun evening to meet others who are working on reducing home energy costs. This event is free to attend.

Accessibility Notes

There are no steps to enter the venue. There is a wheelchair accessible gender-neutral washroom. There are also gendered washrooms on site.
