Bridgewater Homeowners add solar, heat pumps, and insulation to homes

As a homeowner, you have a lot to think about when it comes to maintaining your home, from regular yearly maintenance to bigger home improvements. The costs to upkeep your home can add up quickly. We know the stress of expensive bills, and we have a solution to help: low-interest financing for energy-efficient home upgrades.

Lower Your Costs

Energize Bridgewater helps you reduce home operating costs and makes your costs more predictable. No one likes a surprise spike on their heat bill during the cold winter months. Making your home more energy efficient helps keep your costs down.

The Town of Bridgewater and the Clean Foundation work together to deliver the Clean Energy Financing program, one component of Energize Bridgewater. Through Clean Energy Financing, you can access low-interest financing for home energy upgrades. Your neighbours are already saving over $800 each year on their energy bills after financing payments.

Over the past year, Bridgewater homeowners financed:

  • 17 heat pumps

  • 8 attic insulation installs

  • 11 basement insulation installs

  • 5 solar panel systems

Community Impact

Bridgewater homeowners Mark and Lisa installed heat pumps and new insulation through the program, which has made their home more comfortable.

“The insulation has made a huge difference to the temperature stability,” says Lisa “The fact that you don’t have to pay any money upfront is the reason we were able to participate.”

Through Clean Energy Financing you can access:

  • 1% interest rate

  • 15 year financing term

  • up to $40,000

How to Apply

Over the past several years, the Town of Bridgewater has financed $820,000 in energy upgrades in our community. We still have $4.46 million to lend homeowners in Bridgewater.
