Energy Poverty Task Force Proposes Roadmap for Energy Poverty Reduction in NS

Are you worried about the cost of electricity and home heating? Nearly half of Nova Scotians are struggling to pay their power and heating bills – but there is a solution.

Join us virtually on Tuesday, May 28 at 11:30 a.m. to hear more from Roger Colton, a rate assistance expert with 40 years of experience who has studied our province’s affordability crisis and proposes a roadmap so that all Nova Scotians can afford the energy they need to heat and power their homes.

A Way Forward: A Made-In-Nova Scotia Home Energy Affordability Program was commissioned by the Nova Scotia Energy Poverty Task Force. The task force is made up of the Ecology Action Centre, Nova Scotia Power, Efficiency Nova Scotia, the Town of Bridgewater, Clean Foundation, Affordable Energy Coalition, Consumer Advocate (Pink Larkin), Kate Ervine (SMU), Department of Natural Resources and Renewables, Service Nova Scotia, Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Nova Scotia Oil Heat Association and The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.
