Energize Bridgewater adds Jenish Patel to the team
Q & A with Jenish
1) Why did you want to join the Energize Bridgewater team?
All of the other employees on the team are skilled, and dedicated towards the goals of Energize Bridgewater, to reduce the energy poverty rate by 20% by 2026. I think this project is a wonderful fit for my field of expertise. The Town of Bridgewater has a reputation for having a superior work-life balance compared to other organizations, and that’s part of what made me want to work here.
2) What are you most excited to accomplish in your work on Energize Bridgewater?
I recently passed my Cloud exam and earned an Azure Developer Associate (Microsoft powered) Certificate during my co-op placement at the Town of Bridgewater. That was a great accomplishment I’ve had in my role as a co-op student with the team. I can now utilize my Cloud skills and knowledge on the upcoming phase of the Energy Management Information System project in my new role.
3) What was your background (education and/or work) before joining the team?
This spring I am graduating with a Masters of Applied Computer Science from Dalhousie University. I was fortunate to be able to do a co-op placement with Energize Bridgewater over the winter of 2023 as one of the final steps before receiving my degree.
4) What do you like about living and working in Bridgewater?
The beautiful thing about Bridgewater is the nature and the biking trails around town. It’s a quiet and small town in Nova Scotia where people are friendly.
5) What are some of your hobbies or passions outside of work?
I love to play chess and I am really good at it. Apart from that I like to do strength training and play computer games.
